For our handscraped wood flooring, we take wood from the finest Birch, Elm, Hickory and Acacia trees and create wood flooring that is breathtakingly beautiful and will stand the test of time. The natural grain and patterns of the wood, such as knots and mineral streaks, show through, so every inch tells a story, and that is why wood flooring is so loved. Handscraped hardwood flooring is scraped by man or machine. It is the process that gives this flooring a unique look. Its surface is not completely level, so while it will definitely be without splinters and sanded to perfection, it has the type of surface that is characteristic of handscraped wood. Handscraped wood flooring gives you one of the most natural and barely touched looks in wood flooring.
Handscraped Wood Floors are Easy to Clean
Sweep your wood floor often so dirt and particles don’t scratch it. Use a broom with plastic bristles. Vacuum with a hardwood floor attachment. Clean the floor with a spray wood cleaner and a special dry mop. Spray the floor lightly with the wood cleaner, then mop with the dry mop using a back and forth motion and going with the direction of the grain. Keep an absorbent welcome mat at the entrance to any room that has a hardwood floor. Wipe up any spills immediately with a soft, absorbent cloth.
Low Gloss and Medium Gloss Wood Floors
In addition to all of the different types of woods there are to choose from, there are also two different levels of waxing that can be applied to the flooring. You can choose to go with a medium gloss or a low gloss. Medium gloss is the more popular choice. If you go with a low gloss, it won’t be as slippery, but it is probably best in an area that does not get a lot of foot traffic.
Each type of wood flooring comes in different color stains as well. So you could go from having a Hickory wood floor that has light tan and cream tones to a darker one with tones of black. This will greatly enhance the overall look of your space because you can create a look that will mesh at unprecedented heights.
Never-ending Eye Candy
Choose handscraped wood flooring for flooring you could get lost in. This is so true. With the unending variety of patterns created through the knots, grain patterns and streaks, you will never tire of having this flooring in your home.
Natural handscraped hardwood flooring is environmentally friendly. It’s made from natural wood harvested from trees in areas where new trees are always being planted. The strips of wood come in different thicknesses too depending on the type of wood you choose and the traffic in the area where your hardwood floor will be installed. Wood strips can be as thin as 1/4 inch.
Handscraped Engineered Hardwood Flooring
Engineered hardwood flooring is perfect for use in bathrooms, basements and other areas where the environment might be damp. The thin top layer and often the final bottom later is original wood strip, so you get the real wood look, while the middle is made from fine wood particles fused or bonded together.
